What is Expressive Arts Therapy?

Expressive Arts Therapy….

  • uses the arts and art-making process to help people with their mental and emotional well being; 

  • is low skill and high sensitivity based: we assume everyone has the capacity to respond creatively;

  • engages a client-centered approach and the therapeutic relationship to establish safe exploration;

  • utilizes non-verbal art and play based process that can help you to access your inner resources as potential to heal.  

In my practice I incorporate the arts with talk therapy and mindfulness practices.

I offer therapy with an integrated approach of the expressive arts modalities (visual, music, drama, voice, dance, play, storytelling and movement). I complement my practice with talk, mindfulness and trauma informed therapies. My aim is to provide a rounded support system for clients to feel heard, to de-stress, to connect to their inner resources, and build life skills.
